Picasso

(Original)

I've been doing a series of workshops called "Studying the Masters" where I've taken small pieces of fabrics and poly-sheen threads and done tons of thread painting. I do this over top of a masters image printed onto stabilizer which I've printed out from my ink jet printer. These pieces are usually no bigger then 8"x10" and even though they do require time, they are different then working on a full size quilt.

This one is from Pablo Picasso. I just love this piece. There is just something so tranquil about her face. I think the thread painted one has a whole different "life" about it then the original.

Here's some pix of the flowers around
the grounds at the Gaylord Resort.
It is just beautiful here!

This is a close up of my art piece.
I can't wait until tomorrow!
The quilts are all going to be beautiful!
This one will be displayed in the "On the Wall."

AQS Show:"Flower Patch"

Today I am in Nashville, Tennessee.  My art quilt, "Flower Patch," was accepted in the AQS show.
AQS (American Quilting Society) is an annual national show;  I am so honored!
I was suppose to get here today,Tuesday, but ended up escaping tropical storm Fay, and took an earlier flight, and arrived last night.
I will update info as the show begins and share pictures.
